Forums Must Make A Comeback!

Forums were the first software for community building which brought people together. What made them so great was the amount of customization through addons. A major used economy plugin was used in almost every forum brand of software which allowed a forum to have it's own currency economy. A forum was able to make as many as they wish the plugin also added a store & inventory space to the user's profile this allowed members to purchase items from the shop including forum permissions & more. 

This was the first form of decentralized e-cash on the internet maintained by a forums mysql. Some forums made profit by using the paypal addon to purchase a forums currency doing tactics like making new topics, replies, & polls low earning while items in the store would be priced super high so buying the currency in bulk. There were style theming for profiles, forum skin & much more through plugins.

What made forums so great was categories to create proper sections for any subject of conversation with the usage of forums & sub-forums also known as child forums to establish more context. This format is a lot better then the instant messenger style for community building. Big communities want to be able to engage witbout seeing different variety of conversations flying up per second.

Forums need to become easier to self-host in a more simplified deployable solution. It would be a step forward to modernize the deployment for mobile development. As we can already host servers on phones like how you can download the android app to run a nostr relay &other applications. A self-hostable forum ran by opening an Android app woulf be the next big leap which is a great strive in the open source community.

With the return of the economy shops a default built into the forum no longer a separate plugin you need to download & install. An great display for mobile including a nojs version of the forum display for those who refuse to enable Javascript. Who will be the one to revolutionize forums & bring them back in a modernized way?

Revolt: A New Review 2022!

It's been over a year since we made our last review  of Revolt the chat application. A lot has changed in one year such as new features, website look, & more. At the end we're going to discuss important things to note. WHATS NEW? The website has got a new look no longer saying in the slogan how privacy is critical but you can be sure that your conversations are confidential and your data is secure. This should give people a more welcome feel in trusting them with your data. End to end encryption has still not been developed yet but new features has arrived to Revolt. Revolt can now have CSS gradient color roles which at the current moment can be done through the api and a bash terminal.
