Revolt - Alternative Open Source Project Makes Mark In History!

Revolt the open source chat app that is built on the same technologies as other popular chat apps such as Discord, Guilded, Slack & many others. Paul Makles aka Insert is the creator of Revolt also founded by online members Fatal & Nizune. Revolt is more then just a chat application it's a revolution for community owners which came to the internet on January 27th, 2021!

As you see the identical look gives you a familiar feel so when you do make the switch you will already feel at home with the functions and commands. Revolt is an open source project anyone can download Revolt and host it off their own website allowing you to have complete full control over your Revolt! This is more then just a game changer this is a iconic revolution which I believe is a great move for society.

The fact that Revolt allows you to host it on your own website allows anyone to create their own social network. With terms and agreements these days a lot of people want to be decentralized and not have to be forced to give up their privacy in exchange for services and cool applications such as this! I completely understand it's too demanding if you ever read the terms what they ask of you is to give your social life to them almost! 

I am proud that Paul Makles aka Insert is the first one to do this and create Revolt anyone else could have done it but would they have?


Revolt does not charge you for .gif animation for profile pictures and backgrounds unlike Discord where you must pay Nitro monthly or yearly to be able to use .gif animations and even have a background basic features which should be free!


Revolt allows you to add icons to your channels so each channel can stand out no more of that # next to your channel name! You can also aside from changing your nickname in any server you can also change your profile picture in each server individually allowing you to have different profile pictures for every server your in!

Hello everyone it's 2023 & we are writing a new review on Revolt the chat app. As you may have read our previous reviews this is the third segment to let you know whats happening. Recap Last time we discussed how the client was getting a complete rework & voice chat coming. Well since then everything is still being developed & nothing has changed since. We are still awaiting to see an update with something new. Good, Bad, & Ugly The Good While Revolt is being developed the team has also focused on other projects on the side which may be the reason we haven't seen an update. Gifbox is one of the side projects which is a replicated clone of Imgur . I imagine they did this to not rely on Imgur as a third party source for dropping gifs in chat like you can on Discord. Revolt: A New Review 2022!

It's been over a year since we made our last review  of Revolt the chat application. A lot has changed in one year such as new features, website look, & more. At the end we're going to discuss important things to note. WHATS NEW? The website has got a new look no longer saying in the slogan how privacy is critical but you can be sure that your conversations are confidential and your data is secure. This should give people a more welcome feel in trusting them with your data. End to end encryption has still not been developed yet but new features has arrived to Revolt. Revolt can now have CSS gradient color roles which at the current moment can be done through the api and a bash terminal. Reactions has been added so you may react with custom emojis you uploaded to the emoji picker on your server. Categories has been added so now you may make categories and put your channels in them.
